Justice League 2 (2024) 

After the events of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Earth is recovering from the battle against Steppenwolf, but the victory is short-lived. Darkseid, ruler of Apokolips, has taken notice of Earth’s resistance and prepares for his ultimate conquest. The Justice League—Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg—remain vigilant, knowing that Steppenwolf’s defeat was only the beginning. Meanwhile, Bruce Wayne struggles with recurring nightmares of a ruined Earth, visions of a future where Darkseid has won, and Superman has succumbed to the Anti-Life Equation. In an effort to strengthen their ranks, Bruce and Diana begin recruiting new heroes, including Green Lantern (John Stewart) and Martian Manhunter, sensing that they will need every possible ally to stand against Darkseid’s forces. Meanwhile, Lex Luthor, having escaped Arkham Asylum, seeks to forge an alliance with Darkseid, promising to help him weaken Earth’s defenses in exchange for power. As the League investigates increasing alien activity, they discover that Darkseid has already deployed his most elite warrior, Granny Goodness, along with the deadly Furies, to weaken Earth’s defenses before his arrival.

The invasion begins with a brutal attack on Atlantis and Themyscira, where Darkseid’s forces, led by Kalibak, overwhelm both civilizations. Aquaman fights desperately to protect his kingdom, while Wonder Woman rushes to defend Themyscira, only to witness the brutal slaughter of many Amazons. The League is forced to split up, battling on multiple fronts as Darkseid himself finally arrives, using a massive Mother Box-powered portal to transport his army directly onto Earth. Superman, now fully restored and stronger than ever, confronts Darkseid, but the warlord proves to be an overwhelming force, nearly killing the Man of Steel. As Darkseid activates the Anti-Life Equation, buried deep within Earth’s core, he begins corrupting the minds of countless individuals—including Superman. In a shocking turn, Superman succumbs to the equation, turning against his allies and beginning his reign as Darkseid’s enforcer. Batman, realizing his worst nightmare has come true, initiates a desperate contingency plan, calling upon the remaining heroes—including Shazam, Green Lantern, and the Suicide Squad—for one final stand. Meanwhile, The Flash, guided by Cyborg, attempts to tap into the Speed Force to alter time itself and warn the past of Darkseid’s invasion.

The final battle takes place in the ruins of Gotham, where the last heroes make their stand against Darkseid’s forces. Batman, wielding Kryptonite-enhanced armor, faces off against a brainwashed Superman in an emotional and devastating fight. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman confronts Granny Goodness, and Aquaman leads the Atlanteans in a final assault against Kalibak’s army. The Flash, realizing that the only way to stop this future is by creating a paradox, runs back through time, sacrificing himself to deliver a message to Bruce Wayne in the past. In the final moments, Cyborg manages to disrupt the Mother Box controlling the Anti-Life Equation, momentarily freeing Superman from Darkseid’s control. Enraged, Darkseid prepares to unleash his full power, but before he can, a portal is torn open—revealing Green Lantern Corps reinforcements, led by Hal Jordan. With their combined strength, the League pushes Darkseid back, forcing him to retreat to Apokolips but not before vowing his return. The battle is won, but at great cost—Flash is lost in time, Bruce is left haunted by his choices, and Superman struggles to recover from his corruption. The film ends with a warning: Darkseid is not truly defeated, and a war greater than anything before is still to come, setting the stage for an even more epic confrontation in Justice League 3.
